Cookie policy
Peptide Atlas does not set cookies or use similar browser storage for readers. This page lists the cookies used only by signed-in staff, and what will change if optional analytics are added.
Version 1.0 · Effective
Cookies for readers: none
When you read Peptide Atlas, we do not set cookies, and we do not store anything in your browser through local storage or similar technology. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking pixels, and no social media widgets or embedded third-party players. Pages load scripts only from our own domain, fonts are served from our own domain, and images are delivered through the site’s own image service.
Because nothing is stored for readers, there is no cookie banner today: there is nothing to accept or reject.
Cookies used by staff
People who sign in to the site’s admin receive cookies that readers never get:
- pa-token — keeps a staff member signed in to the admin. It is HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read it) and Secure (sent only over HTTPS), and it stops working when the staff member signs out or the sign-in expires.
- __prerender_bypass — set by the site’s framework (Next.js) only when a signed-in staff member previews unpublished drafts. It lets the preview show draft content, and it is removed when the staff member leaves preview mode or the browser session ends.
The admin interface may also store display preferences in the staff member’s own browser — for example pa-theme, a cookie that remembers the admin’s color theme for up to a year after a staff member changes it.
Other websites
When you follow a link to another website — a journal, a regulator, or a product’s official site — that website’s own cookie and privacy policies apply.
Planned: optional analytics
We plan to add optional, first-party analytics. It is not live. When it launches, nothing for analytics will be stored or sent until you choose Accept optional analytics on a consent banner, which will also offer Reject optional analytics and Customize. You will be able to change your choice at any time on the privacy choices page, and a Global Privacy Control signal will count as a rejection. Remembering your choice will itself require storing that choice in your browser.
Before optional analytics starts, this page will list every cookie and storage item it uses, with its name, purpose, and how long it lasts.
